Former Los Angeles Lakers guard Patrick Beverley has officially signed with Boulazac Basket Dordogne in France’s LNB Elite for the 2026-27 season. The 38-year-old veteran, who last played for PAOK Thessaloniki in Greece, will be the only former NBA player on Boulazac’s roster. The Lakers, who lost their last five games (0W-0D-5L) including a 110-115 defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder on May 12, 2026, will see Beverley continue his career overseas.

Beverley, a 12-year NBA veteran, brings leadership and experience to Boulazac, which finished 12th in the LNB Elite last season. The guard averaged 7.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in eight league games for PAOK and helped them reach the FIBA Europe Cup final with 9.3 points per game. Boulazac’s announcement highlighted his NBA pedigree, calling him a "player of this caliber."
Beverley’s NBA journey
Originally drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009, Beverley never played for the team after being traded to Miami. He later joined the Houston Rockets in 2013 and went on to play for the Clippers, Timberwolves, Lakers, Bulls, 76ers, and Bucks. Over 666 regular-season games, he averaged 8.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.1 steals. His lone Lakers season ended in a trade to Orlando, where he was waived before signing with Chicago.
Why Beverley left the Lakers
During the 2022-23 season, Beverley requested a trade from the Los Angeles Lakers, who were struggling before a late playoff push. He later explained on The Pat Bev Podcast that the move was his decision, not a rejection from the team. The Lakers reached the Western Conference Finals that year but were swept by the Denver Nuggets.
